MH-1 First Year in Space

One year after its launch aboard the SpaceX Transporter 10 Mission, the Portuguese MH-1 satellite continues its journey through space, achieving significant milestones that we are excited to share with our community!

MH-1 has traveled over 200 million kilometers around Earth, orbiting at an altitude of approximately 450 km and a speed of 25 000 kilometers per hour. (You can check its current location here mh-1.ceiia.com).

It has captured photographs of our planet and shared them with us!

MH-1 maintains scheduled communication with our teams, who carefully monitor and control its health.

The operation activities of the experimental MH-1 satellite have allowed us to test and optimize the onboard systems throughout the year and to begin a new phase of operations, to optimize the energy management, stabilize the platform and proceed with the tests to the remaining two payload instruments: SpinWorks’ multi-spectral camera and DSTelecom’s IoT Communication module.

Here on Earth, the MH-1 has won the award for the best mission of the year 2024 at the largest small sat conference in the world, in Utah, USA!

Happy Birthday MH-1!
