Overview

The Magellan Research and Development project, spearheaded by RFA Portugal and co-promoted with CEiiA, presents a transformative opportunity for Portugal to establish a strong foothold in the burgeoning aerospace industry, a sector of recognized strategic importance. This project aims to develop advanced structures for small launchers in Portugal, including the final stage (Kick-Stage), inter-stage interface structures, and the Payload Fairing. These advancements will serve as a testament to Portugal's potential to design, develop, and manufacture complex, low-cost, lightweight, and customized aerospace solutions, encompassing the entire process from concept to production. The project will foster a lasting partnership between the national industry and a leading international aerospace company, driving innovation and knowledge exchange.

The Magellan Research and Development project will play a pivotal role in strengthening R&D in the Space Sector, creating Highly Skilled Jobs, boosting Exports of High-Tech Products and Services, and unlocking New Business Opportunities.
