Project:

CITY CATALYST

Main Objective

Strengthening research, technological development, and innovation.

Overview

Scientific and technological advancements in the realm of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are unequivocally contributing to the sustainable growth of cities worldwide, transforming them into smarter and more sustainable entities. Indeed, the global Smart Cities market is experiencing rapid growth, with a CAGR of 14.8%, and is projected to expand from €350 billion in 2020 to €700 billion in 2025. Technologies such as 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT) have played a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency of urban services, addressing critical gaps in areas like energy, mobility, security, privacy, and environmental sustainability. However, there remains significant room for further progress.

The mobilizing project “City Catalyst – Catalyst for sustainable cities” aims to investigate and develop new products, processes, and services with high potential, contributing to integrated, efficient, and innovation-catalysing urban management. This will be achieved through specific contributions to the implementation and interoperability of urban platforms.
